Shivpuri hotels, bed and breakfast inns and guest houses tell a story of a town with a big sister nearby. You may look at it as a positive, but one disadvantage of a big city nearby is that the smaller town may be stuck in a time warp because of the assumed easy access to alternative services. Development of hotels within Shivpuri in addition to other amenities is retarded and it may be a long time coming. There are only 3 small facilities here and guests looking for more premium services have to drive over to Gwalior and Orcha which are 65 and 70 kilometers away respectively. Guests spending some time in Shivpuri are treated to the relatively modest services at the three establishments, two of which have restaurants and one has a business center. It would be great to have more Shivpuri hotels taking advantage of the beautiful surroundings.
